About Mystic Leoine

One of the earliest memories of Mystic’s storytelling is when she, around preschool age, and her mother practiced creating stories to recite to each other. This served as the starting point towards a skill of creativity and writing. Mystic’s first known “book” is a story about a rabbit, written when she was six years old. The story was made with colorful construction paper, markers, and a dream that she will spend the rest of her life curating and telling the world stories.
Mystic has run through many worlds of emotions and experiences that shaped her into a resilient individual. She heals and grows by writing, and hopes when you listen, it inspires your growth as well. She aims to constantly challenge herself with poetry and prose. Her passion is writing, reciting, and expanding her knowledge of the dynamic art of storytelling.
Her poem “Thorns” will be featured in volume 70 of Mikrokosmos and Mojo Literary Journal; her first published poem. Since 2023, she has hosted poetry open mics, officially known as “Mystic’s Mic,” at Monikahouse, Donut Whole, along with reciting poetry in a few sporadic events.
Mystic is a junior at Wichita State University majoring in creative writing. She plans to pursue graduate school to become an English and writing professor, along with publishing her own books and poems.
If you need a poet for your upcoming show, want a poem created for you to give as a gift, or need someone to help coordinate your next poetry/writing event, Mystic Leoine is the woman to contact!
